The Kharkiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross has received important support to enhance its emergency response capacity.
The Kharkiv–Nuremberg Partnership Association has donated a vehicle for the K9 unit of the Rapid Response Team. The new vehicle will allow handlers and their service dogs to be transported quickly and safely directly to emergency sites.
Speed that saves lives
Search and rescue dogs play a crucial role in emergency response operations. They are involved in locating missing persons:
- in forested areas
- under debris
- in damaged or destroyed buildings
In such situations, every minute counts. Having specialized transport significantly improves the mobility of K9 teams and allows them to begin rescue operations faster.

The donated vehicle not only strengthens the technical capacity of the unit, but also provides safer and more comfortable working conditions for staff, volunteers, and their four-legged rescuers.
