General Information About the Program

Humanitarian Education of the Ukrainian Red Cross is an educational направление focused on personal development, fostering a culture of respect for human rights, empathy, and a responsible attitude toward society.

At the Kharkiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, humanitarian education is delivered through non-formal educational programs for young people. These programs help participants develop critical thinking, communication skills, leadership, and the ability to interact constructively with others.

The humanitarian approach is based on several key principles:

  • Uniqueness of each individual — every person has their own values, experiences, and potential for growth.

  • Emotional and social development — education should foster not only intellectual growth but also empathy and moral values.

  • Critical thinking and freedom of choice — young people learn to independently analyze situations, make decisions, and take responsibility for their actions.

The Ukrainian Red Cross implements humanitarian education programs within non-formal education, combining various educational initiatives and using modern teaching methods.
