General Information About Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

The Health Promotion and Disease Prevention program of the Kharkiv Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross helps community residents take care of their health, develop healthy habits, and prevent the onset of diseases.

The program is implemented within the Kharkiv Integrated Project (Phase II) and is aimed at supporting the population in the context of war, increased stress, and limited access to healthcare services. Special attention is given to the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, raising awareness, and promoting a culture of responsible health behavior.

The objective of the program is to improve the quality of life of the population in the Kharkiv region, reduce disease rates, and promote healthy habits through prevention, awareness activities, and medical navigation.

The main objective of the program is to foster a culture of responsible health behavior among residents of the Kharkiv region. The program helps people better understand health risk factors, respond to early symptoms in a timely manner, and seek medical assistance when needed.

Who the Program Is For

Special attention is given to internally displaced persons, residents of communities affected by hostilities, families with children, and people with chronic conditions. Participation in program activities is open and free of charge for all community residents where the project is implemented.
